Race info

The final round of the season takes place at Kjerringåsen on 10–11 October. Saturday is practice and seeding, Sunday is practice and finals. Same schedule as last year.

"Gubben" is a fairly easy track by downhill standards — hard to ride fast, but easy to get down. That makes Kjerringåsen one of the best places to try downhill for the first time.

Entry fee

NOK 950 for all classes

This is included:

  • 2-day lift pass
  • Keycard
  • Chip rental (timing chip)
  • Start number

A Checkin fee of NOK 39 comes in addition at registration.

A licence also comes in addition, at NCF rates. If you have a full-season licence, show it when you pick up your start number. If you don't, buy a one-day licence during registration. Without a licence you get no start number, and you may neither practise nor race — this is for insurance reasons.

Course marshal — mandatory for ages 6 through 16

When registering a rider in the classes from 6 through 16 years, one course marshal must be registered with name, phone number and email. One marshal per rider.

If you need an exemption — for example one parent covering two riders — it must be agreed in writing before registering. Get in touch.

Marshals are split into groups, each with its own post. The group sorts shift changes internally, so nobody has to sit on a post all day. The marshal meeting is Saturday at 08:45 at the race office — you get the briefing, flags and radios there.

If everyone does a little, we get a race!

The track and the lift

Track: "Gubben". Fairly easy by downhill standards, hard to ride fast but easy to get down. Ideal if you want to try downhill racing.

Lift: A slow bucket lift with a long flat section at the start. It handles kids from around 5 and old-timers of 80 without trouble, and the lift crew helps out.

Remember this

  • Full-face helmet is mandatory. Other protection is recommended: knee/shin, elbow, back, chest, hip, gloves and glasses/goggles.
  • A full-suspension bike with at least 130 mm of travel is recommended. E-bikes are not allowed.
  • The track walk is done on foot. Riding on or along the track during the track walk is prohibited.
  • Start number, zip ties, chip and chip mount are picked up at the race office — see the schedule.
  • Club jersey is worn during seeding and finals by everyone who is a member of a club.
  • Red or yellow flag during seeding or finals: contact the race office immediately after crossing the line to get another run.
